FRIDAY MAR. 12 SOUTH IHS AND MONDAY MARCH 15 SHELDON IHS

At South, (early release) we watched about 40 more minutes of "Lagaan"; IF YOU MISSED CLASS, rent this movie and watch up to where Elizabeth is first helping Bhuvan (our hero) and his friends learn how to play cricket.

At Sheldon, we have a full 83 minutes and are just starting the movie. IF YOU MISSED CLASS, rent and watch that much of "Lagaan.

Read pgs. 328-331 at end of "Three Cups" and discuss the beginnings of Greg's work in Afghanistan.

Discuss the first story in "Stones Into Schools."

These lunch discussions will be held Mon. 3/15 and Wed. 3/17 at Sheldon and Tues. 3/16 and Thurs. 3/18 at South. 25 pts. extra credit. OR you can attend a poetry workshop to be held at South Room 521 from 1:00-2:30 on Friday, 3/12. YOU SHOULD BE REALLY INTERESTED IN POETRY IF YOU ATTEND THIS. THE TEACHER WHO IS ORGANIZING WOULD LIKE ANY STUDENTS WITH A SINCERE INTEREST IN POETRY TO COME, BUT THE CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 25. PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS JUST TO GET THE EXTRA CREDIT. You must request to attend by emailing Jessica Schabtach at schabtach@4j.lane.edu before 3/5.
